The permanent galleries in the second floor, which occupy close to 5,000m2 (16,400 sqft), offer a survey of 3,000 years of art in Peru. Explore the museum at your own pace going through the Pre-Columbian, Colonial and Modern Art galleries and its textiles, drawing and photography rooms showcasing the most important and representative collection of art in Peru.

Visit the temporary galleries in the first floor, thanks to MALI's active program of temporary exhibitions which cover the best of local and international artistic creations throughout the year.

You'll be able to download the MALI app which is available in Spanish and English to get the most out of your museum experience or take advantage of the free Guide tours (in Spanish) every Sunday from 10:30am to 2:30pm.

Complement your visit during weekends, participating in the art workshops for all ages. Monthly workshops schedule can be found in the museum website.

The Exhibition Palace:

The building that houses the Museum is one of the most beautiful examples of eclectic architecture in Lima. Originally built to house the National Exhibition of 1872, this pioneering building was the first in the region built expressly to hold large-scale exhibitions and to make use of the new technique of iron constructions. It is conveniently located at the entrance of Lima's historic downtown area, set in a recently renovated public park.
