Summer Culinary Journey in Peru

Day 1- The tour begins upon your arrival at Lima’s International airport where you will be met by a driver who will transport you to the Hilton Lima Miraflores. You will most likely arrive in the evening, so no activities are planned for this day.

Day 2- After breakfast we will walk through Miraflores on our way to Sky Kitchen for a market tour, fruit tasting, and cooking lesson. In the evening you will dine at Astrid y Gastón (ranked No. 39 in the world by The World's 50 Best Restaurants). You will enjoy the 17-course tasting menu and wine pairing.

Day 3- After breakfast we head to the Casa de Gastronomía peruana and visit the Museo Larco. In the evening, you will experience Virgilio Martinez’s Central (ranked No. 6 in the world by The World's 50 Best Restaurants). You will enjoy a journey through 17 courses and enjoy a delicately constructed wine pairing.

Day 4- After checking out of the hotel we head to the airport. In Cuzco you will check in at the JW Marriott El convento Cusco. To help you acclimate to the altitude in Cuzco, the rooms are oxygen enriched. This evening you will dine in MAP Café. You will enjoy a 3-course meal accompanied by a delightful wine pairing.

Day 5- Today we check out of the hotel and head out to tour the Sacred Valley. You will visit Pisac Market and the Citadel at Pisac. We will stop at Virgilio Martinez’s new restaurant Mil, where you will enjoy an 8-course tasting menu constructed around local ingredients and a drink pairing. We will then board a train to Machu Picchu and check in at the Tierra Viva Machu Picchu followed by dinner at Indio Feliz.

Day 6- Today you to head up the mountain and see one of the Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu. You may climb Wayna Picchu and take in an even more impressive view of the mountain. You will then return to Machu Picchu City to board the train and return to Cuzco.

Day 7- Today is a full-day visit at the Moray Salt Mines. We will then return to Cusco and dine at Pachapapa.

Day 8- We check-out of our hotel and enjoy a Pachamanca: several meats marinated in herbs cooked under hot stones. We will then head back to the airport and return to Lima and the Hilton Lima Miraflores.

Day 9- Our day begins with a light lunch at La Mar (ranked No. 15 in Latin America by Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants) and this evening you dine at OSSO Carnicería y Salumería (ranked No. 12 in Latin America by Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants), a carniceria with a focus on sustainable meats. If you are a vegetarian, we are happy to book an alternate restaurant for you.

Day 10- Today you will check out of the hotel and enjoy one final meal at Maido (ranked No. 7 in the world by The World's 50 Best Restaurants), where you will enjoy the Nikkei Experience: a 13 course tasting menu and wine pairing constructed around each course. Those of you with shellfish allergies may construct your own tasting menu from the a la carte menu.
