Limon Shore Excursion Small Group Private Tour with Sloth Sanctuary and Tortuguero

Begin with pickup from your cruise port at the time of your choosing, then travel into the city of Limon with a personal guide to show you around. Your next stop is a sloth sanctuary: for the health and well-being of the rescued sloths, guests don’t touch the slow-moving animals, but you can see the sloth nursery, meet Buttercup the sloth, and explore the rainforest that surrounds the sanctuary. Board a canoe for a 1-hour trip down the Tortuguero Canal, and watch for tropical wildlife at the edge of the water, where you might spot howler monkeys, crocodiles, and more.

Continue to a banana plantation (outside) to learn how the crop is harvested, processed, packed, and exported—tiny Costa Rica is among the largest banana producers in the world, and bananas play an important role in the country’s history.

Then enjoy The Jungle Trail that offers a 1 km trek through a secondary forest offering beautiful landscapes, various flora and fauna, and including many opportunities to see the remarkably fascinating different frog species of Costa Rica, for example the red dart frog (dendrobates pumillo).
