The tour was great to spend a day in contact with nature and a bit of time at the beach. The tour guide, John was nice at all times. A wonderful choice for a day outside Lisboa.
My family of 4 had a great trip. Our guide was personable and informative, clear on the timing of the day. The boat host made sure to check on all of the passengers, as it was a rough day at sea. The day was lovely and the activities were great.
Our trip to the island was good. Boat ride to the island the day we went was very rough. Because of the rough waters the kayaking option was not available. The sights though were beautiful and we got a little beach time. My only comment was that our tour guides were not very present (visible) during boat ride over and back and were unaware that 2 people got seasick on the way over.
Once I new I was going to Portugal I wanted to do something memorable for my Birthday.Berlenga offered me a opportunity to be on the Atlantic, to explore an island, and visit a historic fort. This trip allowed me to check off a number of boxes with regard to things I wanted to do.My high hopes for this adventure were meet and exceeded. Our tour guide, Pedro, was engaging and informative, both on the island and on the drive to the boat. I was lucky enough to sit up front and learned a great deal about Portuguese culture, events, crops, wind power and much much more.I loved exploring the island. Coming across the Lizards was a real treat. I have always enjoyed seeing the effects that powerful waves have on a land mass. The curved stone staircase on the way to the fort were impressive and beautiful. The fort itself. Amazing. I am a full time artist and my time on Berlenga has already lead too two paintings. I will be doing more paintings inspired by my visit in the near future.
I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to have a beach day and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Lisbon. My friend and I had a wonderful tour guide named Nounou. He was interesting and informative throughout the experience. We took an air-conditioned minivan to the village of Peniche to hop on a boat to the Berlenga Island. The trip to the island is around 1 hour. If you had any sort of seasickness/ motion sickness, chances are that you will get sick during the boat ride. Unfortunately, I did not feel too great throughout the ride but our tour guide had bags for people who became nauseous. I would recommend to the people who get sick, to go to the front of the boat to sit on the beanbag chairs, to minimize the seasickness. Coming back from the island was better than going to the island since you are riding with the waves and not against them. When we were on the island, you had the choice of kayaking or going on the glass bottom boat. I would recommend kayaking if you are adventurous. You don't necessarily need to know kayaking to do this activity. Remember to bring an extra set of clothes since you will get wet. If you can, bring a waterproof pouch for your phone so you can take beautiful photos when kayaking. We had free time to enjoy the beach which was lovely. Overall, this is a wonderful trip for friends, and family with older kids. The last tip is to pack some lunch since there is only one cafe/restaurant on the island. This will save you time so you will have more time at the beach.
Best part of my 2 weeks trip! Amazing place to see and an amazing tour guide. The water was choppy and a bit hard to get through, but definitely worth going there, great hikes and kayaking and the views were amazing!
Amazing trip! Joana, our guide, was awsome! Always looking if we need help with anything. Berlengas is an incredible place. This is a nice day trip from Lisbon.
Berlanga was the highlight of our trip in Portugal and defiantly a must see. Our guide Miguel was very accomidating and informative. We felt very welcomed and had a great time.
