We continue our visit to the Sanctuary of Fátima. Place where Our Lady appeared to the little shepherds in 1917 to transmit 3 messages: The End of the First World War, the fall of Communism and the attack on Pope John Paul II. Fatima is one of the most important Catholic Shrines in the World.
Visit to the Chapel of the Apparitions and the possibility of attending a Mass. The pedestal, where the Image of Our Lady is located, marks the exact place where the small holm oak on which Our Lady appeared to the Shepherds on May 13, June, July, September and October 1917
We go to the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, a smaller basilica located at the place of Cova da Iria. It is a huge church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, belonging to the complex of the Sanctuary of Fatima. The project was written by the Greek architect Alexandros Tombazis. It was inaugurated on 12 October 2007 by the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Fatima.
We will then visit the Wax Apparitions Museum of Fatima where you can enjoy the 31 scenes on display and understand why the six million pilgrims to the Sanctuary of Fatima per year. In scenes composed by wax figures, the museum recalls the history of the Fatima shepherds and the most important historical events, contextualizing the events of the apparitions of Our Lady and the angel of Portugal.
Finally we will go to Aljustrel, Aldeia dos Pastorinhos, where you can visit the Pastorinhos house and see the lifestyle that will have taken the children who witnessed the miracle of Fatima. At the moment it can be visited by all the people, where they will find a configuration faithful to the time with objects belonging to the Marto family. In these can be distinguished, photographs of the family, clothes, kitchen utensils, furniture, among others.
