Nazare Big Waves and Peniche (Surf capital) from Lisbon Private

• Begin the day with pickup at your hotel by a private guide.
• Head off to the north-western coast towards Nazaré, a small fishing village and world-famous surfing location.
• This private tour can be customized to suit your preferences and focus on the things that interest you most.
• After about 1 hour and 15 minutes driving through the Portuguese countryside, arrive in Nazaré.
• Take a quick tour of the village, then head to the wave-watching site to take in the strength and beauty of the coast.
• If open, pay a visit to Forte Sao Miguel Arcanjo (entrance included), one of the best ways to experience the waves without having to suit up and swim.
• For lunch, head to one of the many nearby seafood restaurants. One option is the restaurant where Garrett McNamara, a legendary surfer, always eats when he’s in town.
• Then, depending on the tides, spend some more time watching the waves or return to Lisbon passing by Peniche the capital of surf where there is a stage of wsl.
• Your guide will drop you off at your hotel by the end of the day.

This tour is provided during the big-wave season, which coincides with the waiting period for the World Surf League Big Wave Challenge, but it impossible to determine with more than a few days' notice if there will be big waves and therefore surfers in the water
