Get picked up from your Lisbon hotel by a guide and travel via comfortable, air-conditioned coach to picturesque Santarém. The region has been inhabited since the neolithic period by Romans and Christians and is known as “the capital of the Gothic.” Head to the Ancient Walls and Garden Portas do Sol for a beautiful view of the Tagus River and visit the Convent of San Francisco, a famous Graça Church.

After a period of free time for lunch, head to the enigmatic Almourol Castle, one of the most emblematic monuments of the Christian reconquest. Situated on an island, Almourol is one of the most distinctive castles in Portugal due to its historical importance and surrounding countryside.

The town of Tomar was a stronghold for the Knights Templar (Order of Christ) and offers visitors the chance to see the beautiful Convent of Christ. The site displays five centuries of unique architectural styles and was part of the defense system created to protect the kingdom from attacks. Your guide will return you to your hotel in Lisbon at the end of the day.
