About this activity
We take-off from Lisbon in the morning heading directly to the UNESCO-listed Pena Palace. The 19th-century Romantic palace is a wonder to discover and one you will not soon forget. It is one of the best places to take pictures. It’s placed high on top of the mountain with a splendid view that stretches for miles, all the way to the Ocean.

As you stroll through the beautiful and exotic landscape, your guide will give you historical and architectural details on the region. Later we continue through the National Park onwards to see the Chalets, Moorish Castle and Montserrate Palace.

Moving forward we have the stunning Quinta da Regaleira. This yet another UNESCO-listed site has anciently carved buildings, incredible gardens and a gothic breeze that will enchant anyone who dares to enter. Full of history behind it, you will learn all about the caves, secret wells and art that originated from the Masonry, the Templars and the Rose Cross.

Reaching the end of our trip we'll take a stroll through the historical center of Sintra. This is a good time to rest, lunch and try out some traditional regional pastries.

The tour and guide, Rui, were outstanding. He was very knowledgeable and took us to places we didn’t expect to see. The morning of tour, he had already done his research knowing a road was closed to go to the palace. Only taxis/buses were allowed up. He informed us that we could take a taxi up and he would wait in Sintra, which we did. As we were on our way up we saw other tour groups being stopped and some trying to walk up the hill a long distance. He saved us valuable time and the entire rest of the trip was fabulous.

We booked this late in the evening for the very next morning. Communication was immediate and thorough, and our guide José was top notch. From taking care of our ticket purchase, making sure shuttles were available back to the car, finding us a table to enjoy the very best pastry in Sintra, to giving interesting points/history of what we were seeing, we felt completely cared for in every way. Cannot recommend high enough, José was the best!!

Antonio wisely guided us around massive tourist bottle necks to make the most of our half day. He was very friendly and warm. He asked us what our priorities were at the onset and made sure our expectations were not only met but exceeded.

Tour guides were unbelievably amazing and accommodating... José and his team were unforgettable and a joy to work with! They went above and beyond to make our trip a great experience and even helped with a small child... thank you for making this a trip to remember! Perfectly organized to see all the sites in a timely and efficient manner!

My husband and I had a wonderful day touring Sintra, Cascais and surrounds with Jose. He was a very knowledgable guide, charming, professional, a safe driver and a wonderful ambassador for Portugal. We loved the size of this tour (just the two of us!) as this allowed us the flexibility to design our own adventure. Jose knew the right time to get us to the Pena Palace to avoid the lengthy queues, the best place for coffee and delicious local pastries in Sintra, he took us to the often overlooked Monserrate Palace (which was my favourite of the day), helped me locate the Australian plants in the massive palace gardens and stopped at a number of attractions on the way back to Lisbon that he knew we would enjoy based on our interests. This was the perfect tour for our short trip to Lisbon, as we felt we really saw it all in one day. We would highly recommend the tour and Jose as a guide to our family and friends. Thank you Jose for a day we will never forget.

Loved this little trip. The Pena Palace is gorgeous and was worth the trip alone. Our guide - Ceasar - did a great job of getting us there early before it got busy. We loved the streets and alleyways, and wish we could have stayed just a bit longer. Ceasar also gave us amazing food recommendations and introduced us to my new favorite pastry - the pillow pastry.

It was an excellent tour. Our tour guide Diogo was great. We started the tour with boca du infernu, mouth of hell, after that with beaches in ocean, the western point of Europe , amaizing views. The end we visited Sintra, Panance Palace, kings residence and the city of Sintra, and we were back to lisbon. Was a great tour for the short period of time we had

Gorgeous place and great trip. I did a private tour because the regular tours were booked. It wasn't cheap but got to see some great stuff and make stops along the way at some great sites (mouth of hell, western most point of continental Europe) and the palace at Sintra was not to be missed.

We visited Pena Place with Cesar as our guide. We proceeded to Quinta de Regalia thereafter. We had a great half day at Sintra and Cesar was awesome.
