We took this tour to Sintra as a day trip from Lisbon. The company immediately confirmed our booking and 24 hours before confirmed our pick up point 5 minutes from our accommodation - good start. Our driver and guide John picked us up on time and after picking up our fellow travellers we set off to Sintra. Although our guide didn’t join us in the various attractions he gave us a comprehensive back ground and history lesson to each place and was extremely knowledgeable. Lunch spots were recommended and after spending the day together we felt like we truely had spent the day with a good friend, we learnt a lot, discussed a lot and had a laugh too. Thanks John for a most memorable and enjoyable dat out. Highly recommend.

We had a really enjoyable trip to Sintra and Cascais with a top class guide - take a bow Claudia! There was a lot packed in to the day. Pena castle in Sintra is beautiful. We took the opportunity to do the tour but we should have followed Claudia's advice and gone there first as we ended up in the long queue that snakes through the palace at a slow pace! The map of trails in the Quinta da Regaleira park and advice from Claudia proved very helpful for the walk and the trip down the well followed by a relaxing lunch and wander around the beautiful town of Sintra. After Sintra it was off to visit the cliffs of Roca Cape - bring a jacket or fleece! And finally a stop in Cascais for a wander around the pretty seaside town. Overall a great value trip - we were lucky with our guide who had us all cheering "Ah Fadista" at the end of the Fado songs on the CD player.

My husband and I had such a wonderful time touring Sintra and Cascais. Our tour guide Andrea was courteous, knowledgeable and punctual. We visited palaces and had lunch in Sintra center. After lunch we visited the west most point of continental Europe and the beautiful town of Cascais. Andrea also shared many interesting facts and viewpoints of Portugal. I will highly recommend this tour for the Sintra visit.

Our experienced tour guide Claudia, along with supervisor Julia, provided us with historical background, as they expertly led us to Sintra, surrounding palaces, lush with carefully tended flowers and vegetation, even climbing down a well, allegorically referring to Dante’s inferno. We were driven to see oceanic panoramas, and resort towns is Cascais and Estoril. We chatted with our tour participants about architecture, art, education, and compared travel notes, gaining valuable tips, as we walked and drove.. The experience was energizing and yet relaxed because we were given background, yet allowed to explore at our own pace at each stop, with recommendations for shopping and eating, guaranteed to give us the necessary tools to explore. No need to drive around with your nose in a map, shrugging your shoulders because you can’t communicate, have to stand on endless lines, and end up feeling exhausted and frustrated. We used this company for our three tours and will gladly recommend their professionalism, enthusiasm, and experience to all comers!

The tour was great from the beginning. The guide picked us up at our door in Barrio Alto, no small matter. She got the group to the Pena Palace early enough to beat the crowds. Sintra is no easy place to navigate, but she was wonderful all day long, getting us from place to place without any strain on the group. We are very happy that we too this tour and got this guide!

Had a wonderful tour guide, Jaon (John) who gave us a history lesson for every section of the tour. He allowed free time to wander around while also assisting the group of eight with recommendations for eating and what to look for at the various sites. Highly recommended.

Sintra is the most magical city ever. But our guide, Philippa from 'Portugeese for a day' just made it even more wonderful. She is undoubtedly the best tour guide we have had, She was very knowledgeable, spoke perfect English, was funny, well mannered and had an amazing temperament, She showed us the best sites and gave us appropriate recommendations as per our interests.

Booked this tour because it was the very few that included Quinta da Regaleira at a reasonable price. Our tour guide Filipa was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history of Portugal and Sintra. Timing of seeing all the sites was laid out well. Great lunch recommendation from Filipa. Definitely recommend this tour!

We were slightly hesitant to book this tour as it would consume our entire FIRST day in Lisbon after traveling but it was the only day available during our stay and I am so glad we decided to just do it. Our tour guide was Filipa and I seriously could not recommend her more. My fantastic interaction with her came before we even started the tour and i had to change my pick up location - not a problem, she made the appropriate adjustments and we were good to go. Everything we did was a bit delayed due to the taxi strike which slowed down all of the traffic in Lisbon but Filipa did her best to keep us entertained with history and other stories. Regardless of the unavoidable traffic issues Filipa still had us to our first destination before it got too crowded - and since our tickets to Pena Palace were included, we got to skip the ticket line. Pena Palace was amazing and I could have spent an entire day in the gardens but Filipa was very informational about how much time we had and what we could reasonably see and still get on with the tour - and she was very accurate. Next we stopped at Quinta da Regaleira which was my favorite part of the site seeing - again, Filipa walked us through the best way to walk through the grounds to see everything in a timely matter and have us all meet up again for lunch. Her lunch recommendations were TOP notch Get the octopus at Adega das Caves... AND get the pillow pastries!. Cascais and Cabo da Roca were beautiful but I did enjoy the first part of the day more due to content, nothing to do with the tour. We did eat ice cream and stick our feet in the water in Cascais but were a bit rushed due to our timing issues. In all, I'd recommend this tour as highly as possible - it's a great day and worth the price.

Great day out visiting Sintra. Highlight for me was Quinta da Regaleira with its unusual architecture and mystical symbolism. Pena Park was vast so we opted to visit the inside castle instead and spend time in the smaller gardens at Quinta da Regaleira. Andre's recommendations were on point as he got us to Pena Palace right before it got incredibly busy and guided us to make the most of our time in each attraction. Enjoyed our stop at Cabo da Roca and a lovely gelato in Cascais. Great value as well as most entry fees are included in the price. Small company who love their country and offer a great experience. Warmly recommended.

Excellent tour. André was on time for pick up. More importantly, he is very fluent in English, knows his material, and provided us with an excellent day. The tour is just right in terms of content. Not too much, and time to enjoy each site. We enjoyed André and the other 2 couples. André is personable and provides interesting insights into the life and culture of Portugal. Well worth the day.
