We will visit the National Sanctuary of Cristo Rei, located at an altitude of 113 meters above the level of the Tagus River, surmounted by the statue of the Holy Redeemer with open arms facing the city of Lisbon, this monument being the best viewpoint overlooking the city of Lisbon, offering a wide view over the Capital and the 25 de Abril Bridge, we will then go to the Castle of Palmela where to the south one can observe the city of Setubal, the estuary of the Sado and Troia, to the west the green of Arrábida and to the north are the Tagus, Lisbon and the Serra de Sintra, our gaze is lost as far as the eye can see. It has Arab origin, with the first fortification built around the 9th century, but archaeologists point to human presence in the place since the Neolithic. Within the walls we find the ruins of the Church of Santa Maria with renaissance and gothic notes. And to enjoy an excellent lunch at Quinta da Dona Isilda in Palmela, a restaurant with a full buffet, always full of the best regional delicacies, and finally visit the Pálacio and Quinta da Baclhoa, where we can see the first tile dated from Portugal, this space is inserted in a singular landscape with a historical framework that dates from the beginning of the fourteenth century. The architecture and decoration of the Palace gardens show influences from the Portuguese discoveries, memories of its first owners inspired by the travels through Europe, Africa and the East, thus contributing to the transformation of this space into a unique jewel where we will finish with a delicious wines.
