About this activity
Our PSV licensed drivers will pick you up from your Livingstone accommodation. Between 0745-0815 on your day of adventure. We will then transport you to our rafting base on the upper Zambezi river, located at the "Victoria Falls Waterfront". Here you will meet your guides, pay your USD 10 National Heritage fee (a govt fee for river access), be issued with your rafting equipment and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before we begin our comprehensive safety briefing.
- We do have a secure valuable's "lock box" available for our guests at check-in, please don't bring huge amounts of cash.
- You will have the opportunity here to change into your river clothes.

Once the briefing is complete and everyone has been equipped. We board our bespoke vehicles and travel the 11km's to the entrance of the UNESCO World Heritage site, the "Victoria Falls". At the falls entrance we will divide you into teams, under the instruction of one of our guides. *Please be advised that while we do our best to accommodate groups, numbers in the boats vary from 2-8 depending on conditions and you may be in a raft with other guests.

At the falls entrance you can leave extra clothing such as jumpers and jackets in our provided dry-bags. These items will meet you at your exit point for the drive back to town. Once we are formed up into our raft crews we descend the 15 minutes (easy path) into the Batoka Gorge and onto our rafts. Once in the rafts, our guides will conduct an "in-boat" safety briefing and instruction session. Once this is complete in all rafts and everyone is ready, the signal is given by our Trip Leader and we had off downstream, rafting rapids #1-10.
*Please be advised rapid # 9 (Commercial Suicide) is a mandatory portage for all guests.

We usually reach Rapid # 10 at around 1230, at this point we have some lunch and juice and a small break to exchange war stories. We then re-board our rafts and raft rapids #11 to #21.

Once we reach rapid #21 we ascend the Batoka gorge (hard path), the hike takes the average person 25 minutes. We provide plenty of drinking water and our guides will be on hand to assist you. Once we reach the top of the Batoka Gorge, we have a refreshing beverage and have a 30-45-minute drive back to our raft base at the Victoria Falls Waterfront. Once we reach the "Victoria Falls Waterfront" usually around 1600 we have a beer and a wholesome early dinner and watch the video and view the pictures of the days’ action. *Please be advised these are provided to all guests free of charge.

What to bring:

1) Walking shoes or trainers are a must for the hike in and out of the gorge.

2) Quick drying clothes (board shorts, rash vest, bikini, shirt) you don't mind getting wet, long sleeves are a good idea for the sun.

3) A warmish top for the drives to and from the river.

4) Sun cream and any medication you require.

5) USD 10 in cash for the park entry.
