About this activity
Your private driver will pick you up at your ship at Livorno port and take you to the university town of Pisa (approx 30 minutes), where you will have a brief stop and enjoy free time to see the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Baptistery and the Pisa Cathedral.
Then, get back in the car for the relaxing drive through the Tuscan countryside to Florence (approximately one hour). As you approach Florence, you'll drive up the Viale dei Colli to the stunning terrace of Piazzale Michelangelo. Here, you can enjoy the most impressive views of the city before continuing down into its heart.
You will head to Florence’s city center, where you can admire the Piazza Santa Croce and the pretty Santa Croce church. You’ll also see the impressive Piazza del Duomo (S. Maria del Fiore Cathedral, the Baptistery and Giotto's Bell tower), Piazza della Signoria (Palazzo Vecchio), Piazza della Repubblica and the elegant Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge). You’ll have free time to explore the many shops, watch the street performers, visit a museum or simply enjoy the views over the river. When you’ve finished exploring Florence, jump back in your luxury vehicle for your transfer back to your ship in Livorno.
For even more Italian culture, upgrade your shore excursion to include a private guide for three hours in Florence, plus admission into one of Florence’s world-renowned art galleries – either the Accademia or the Uffizi. If you don’t upgrade, you’ll simply explore Pisa and Florence on your own.

It has been 2 years since we did this tour, but we are still talking about it and hope to be able to return to the area in the near future. Our personal driver was Luigi, who was very professional and an excellent driver, well informed about Firenze, Pisa and areas. The vehicle we travelled in was spotless and very comfortable. Luigi introduced us to Giacobbe, our walking guide, who took us to well-known sites such as the Galleria dell'Accademia WOW to everything, especially awestruck by David!, the beautiful Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, a walk along Ponte Vecchio to look at jewellery and other shops. There was time for some walking on our own and shopping for leather goods as well. Luigi took us to the incredible lookout point Piazzale Michelangelo where we took beautiful photos of Florence and the pontes crossing the Arno River, and Pisa for a short, self-wallking tour of the area. We felt so comfortable with Luigi that we felt we had been friends for years..

Our driver picked us up at the port where he drove us directly to Florence. We met up with our tour guide at the Galleria Dell’ Accademia. Our tour guide was very sweet, but we had a hard time hearing her. After she walked us through Florence to all the locations described in the tour. Once the tour ended we had about an hour of free time to have lunch and shop. We ended our tour at the Leaning Tower of Piza. This was a short stop and that is all that it needs to be. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

Alex was our driver. He was on time polite and friendly. His tour of Florence began with a scenic overview of the city. I wish we had him for longer. Emma was our museum guide. Her knowledge of art was amazing! She was friendly, polite and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend her and this tour. I wish we had more time.

As a family of 6 4 adults and 2 children we spend a great day with our informative driver/guide exploring the cities of Florence and Pisa. Our private tour gave us a wonderful opportunity to see and do everything we wanted to do in Florence and also visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa before returning to your ship at the end of the day. A great tour, well worth the money.

Two vans met our families on time at the port. They were very friendly and very safe about their driving. Our tour guide in Florence was extremely knowledgeable! She had such passion for the history and art of the area. We learned a lot!

Our private Luigi was waiting for us at when we got off the ship. He was great...first we went to see the leaning tower of pisa it was amazing to think it is still there. Then we went to Florence and the views for the Piazzale Micheangelo was amazing. Reminded me of the views of the movie Inferno. After went to Florence itself and walked around the beautiful city Luigi provided us with information on shops and places to eat loved the place.
