Your surprise destination could be any one of Slovenia’s 300 castles and numerous churches, one of the many clear rivers, peaceful lakes and hidden waterfalls, or perhaps one of the ten thousand caves. You could be taken to a medieval town, an inconspicuous marketplace, or a quaint village. You might end up participating in a local festival or shopping at a village market.

As this is a trip to the unknown, there is no itinerary for this tour, but rest easy, our guides do have a plan for you. The weather and other local conditions will play a factor in the planning of this tour, as well as local festivals and market days, and it would be useful for us to know your age and any special interests so that we can tailor this tour to your needs.

A lovely day out! They really aren't kidding about tailoring it to you, although since no-one actually had any opening suggestions it was a little quiet at the start, we then headed out to the wine region in the east and visited a number of interesting towns and suchlike, with a final stop for a swim.

The trip was to Triglav National Park to get a glimpse of Julian Alps and then subsequently to a Park in Slovenia. The trip was phenomenal and breathtaking. It was very challenging for me personally to climb up for around 2.5 Kms but the guide Urska was kind enough to carry my belongings and help me overcome my health constraints. The trip was amazing.

I liked 2 of the 3 things that were on offer. I wouldn't have chosen the Idrja mine tour for myself. I would have preferred a medieval castle to the mine. I was impressed with the Franja Hospital and the location of the gorge. I enjoyed Skofia Loca. The travelers don't choose what they want to see as they might not know. The tour leader chooses. So you need to change the write up. I let the Slovenian Explorer people know. It was a nicely paced tour.

Had an amazing experience on this tour!!! My wife, 4 year old daughter and I had spent over a week exploring Slovenia on our own. We realized early on that there were tons of hidden gems that we were going to miss out on because we simply did not know where to look. Tina did a fantastic job constructing an Off the Beaten Path itinerary specifically for our family. We had such a good experience, that I booked the tour a second time and enjoyed a completely different itinerary on my own. The tours were highlights of our trip, and really helped fill in gaps in our own exploring by introducing us to hidden gems we never would have seen otherwise. Highly recommend.
