Stop At: University of Oxford, Oxford OX1 2JD, UK

Your first stop is Oxford, where you have time to explore the precincts of the many colleges, climb one of the vantage points to take in the skyline, or see the art and antiquities collections in the Ashmolean Museum. The choice is yours.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Minster Lovell Hall & Dovecote, Minster Road, Minster Lovell, Witney England

Ruined medieval manor house located on the banks of the River Windrush. Originally built by the Lovell family (the local landowners, who gave their name to the village)
Local legend tells of how Francis Lovell (the last of the family) went into hiding after the defeat of Richard III in 1485, allegedly in a secret chamber in the grounds of Minster Lovell Hall, the knowledge of his whereabouts known only by a faithful servant who unexpectedly died; skeletal remains, presumed to be Lovell’s, were discovered in the 1700s…

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Burford Library 86A High Street, Burford OX18 4QF England

Our next stop is in Burford, the ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’. It’s a small market town with enormous character and a huge history. The main street is lined with gorgeously quaint cottages and properties.

Stop At: Arlington Row, Awkward Hill, Cirencester GL7 5NJ, UK

Finally, you make the short journey to Bibury, described by William Morris as the prettiest village in England, and the place that Henry T Ford wished to dismantle and ship back to the USA.

Here we have time to stroll past the famous and fairytale-like Arlington Row. After a full day exploring the city of Oxford and the villages of the Cotswolds we’ll embark on the comfortable return journey to London.

The driver was really kind, the tour itself it’s a bit boring due to the much time spent on the bus, Bibury its Just a street and the trout farm si the only thing that’s interesting to see but we didn’t have time. Oxford it’s beautiful but quite everything is closed to visitors.

Here are my points..... The van itself was not great. The ac wasn't cold enough for one of the hottest day in the UK. And it was manual. Oh God.. The driver/tour guide was nice but he drove a bit too fast at times like he was in a race. He talked way too much for MY TASTE. Some were unnecessary to be honest. The villages were okay . Nothing really interesting. The drive there was not worth anything. DON'T do this tour if you get carsick. You will regret it. I'm telling you. One couple saw me all pale and sitting down and asked me if I was okay. The lady gave me ginger pills for my stomach which kind of helped. The driver did warned me but what can I do? I already paid for it. Oxford was not as great as I thought. There is shopping to do there which I love. It's one of the best things about traveling. For those with IBS or any stomach issue....there is a FREE restroom you can use in the museum's basement/lower floor and at the McDonald's(up the stairs) But yeah... you spend most of the time in the bus. Also, I think they need to change the end time or something.... there was a crazy amount of traffic on our way back. I had a hard time finding the bus. Instructions are not really specific.

Small group meant an uncomfortable van with a driver who steered with one hand and talked with the other! This was basically transportation (and not a tour) to Cotswolds Villages and Oxford to be dropped off with no further information. It would be easy to provide a simple map of Oxford to provide direction on where to go instead of verbal directions and then disappearing. Will not use this vendor (Rabbi's) again.

Really great day, smaller group, outstanding tour guide, beautiful scenery! The English countryside is beautiful, make sure to include this tour.

The Cotswolds were beautiful and ample time was spent. At the village stops. Oxford was an interesting visit - great history and architecture, beautiful grounds but the city was quite commercialized and crowded. Less time could have been allotted to this stop. Our guide was excellent - easy going, informative, patient. Highly recommend this tour.

Perhaps our expectations were too high, but this all day tour didn't really meet them. There is a LOT of driving involved getting to the Cotswolds, from the Cotswolds to Oxford and then back to London. Candidly, the area of the Cotswolds we saw was nothing special, and our while our driver provided good information on the ride to each location, we were totally on our own once we arrived with no real direction or sense of what we were seeing. Our lunchtime stop barely had enough time to eat much less see any of the sights. And most disappointing, our trip to Oxford was again an entirely "self-guided" tour once we arrived. Given the small size of the group, we expected at least some time with our guide walking through each location.

Our guide, Nick, did a wonderful job of telling stories of British history and what to expect at each location we stopped at. We went to Oxford first, and had around 2-2.5 hours free time to explore. Nick recommended that we eat lunch in Oxford, which we did. We walked all around the town, climbed the Carfax tower (for 5 pounds) and got to look inside one of the university colleges. Next, we went to Bampton and saw the church from filming in Downton Abbey, for around 20 minutes. We don't watch the series, so we didn't particularly care about this, but it was still cool to see. My favorite town in the Cotswolds was Bibury. I wish we could've stayed there longer! We had around 30 minutes to explore, during which we had cream tea at the Trout farm cafe (so much cheaper than tea options in downtown London) and took lots of pictures of the beautiful town. Finally, we went to Burford, and had around an hour to explore there. Burford was full of shops and cafes lining a hill. It was about a 2 hour drive back to London from there. We had an overall great experience! Be aware, that the guide does not take you around the towns that you stop in. We had an assigned meeting time and place, and were set off to explore on our own. We hadn't planned what we wanted to do/see in any of the stops, and it worked out fine. But know that you have to find your way around Oxford on your own. Thanks for a lovely tour!
