Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in a traditional black cab and you will set off to Kent. First stop, Canterbury, the traditional home of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The city itself dates back to Roman times and still has a fine medieval wall. In 1170 Thomas 'A' Becket was killed in the cathedral and canonised shortly after, and his shrine became a place for pilgrims to travel.
After lunch we head for Leeds Castle, to what is known as 'the most beautiful castle in the world' and originally built in 857 A.D. in wood. We trace its history to stone by the Normans in 1119 and view the fine collection of impressionists paintings, also visiting the aviary, Culpepper flower garden and maze.
