'Downton Abbey' Christmas Experience at Highclere Castle: Dinner, Champagne and Carols

Leave London by luxury, air-conditioned coach and travel to Highclere Castle, the setting of popular television series Downton Abbey. A most wonderful setting during the festive Christmas period, the manor house is widely considered to be one of England’s most beautiful Victorian buildings. Enjoy a Champagne and canapé reception in the elegant Saloon room as you soak up the atmosphere in the famous stately home, enjoy the conversation of your fellow guests and watch the flames dancing in the open fireplace.

Some of the public rooms in the castle are open for the evening, and you’re free to explore them at your leisure. Spend time in the opulent Drawing Room, Smoking Room and Library — you may even recognize them from the Downton Abbey series! Later in the evening, sit down to a sumptuous 3-course evening meal with wine. Pull Christmas crackers with your fellow guests, chat to newfound friends and enjoy delicious food prepared in the castle’s own kitchens.
