Entrance Tickets to The Royal Mews of the Buckingham Palace
‘Mews’ is a singular British term that refers to a row of stables and carriage houses on the ground floor with living quarters built above. The Royal Mews is one of the finest examples of its kind. It was located at Charing Cross for a long time, until it was finally moved to the Buckingham Palace in the 1820s. Unlike the palace, the Mews is generally open to the public almost all year round.
Many of the luxurious motor coaches gifted to the Queen of England are put on display at the Royal Mews. Around 30 steeds, the State motor cars, and many functional carriages like the ‘Balmoral’ Landau and the ‘Ascot’ Landau can be seen here. The Diamond Jubilee Coach combines modern technology with classic coach design. Artefact like the Mary Rose are housed in the coach. The coachmen, grooms, and chauffeurs live above the stables.
Your ExperienceThe Royal Mews is one of the most exquisite places to visit in London. Once your voucher has been exchanged for tickets at the Buckingham Palace office, you can begin exploring this magnificent place. Admire the intricately designed horse-drawn carriages and the classy motor cars like the 1977 Rolls Royce Phantom VI. Every vehicle in the Mews seems to have a royal aura about it. If the Windsor Greys and Cleveland Bays are not off somewhere on duty, witnessing these magnificent animals is a fascinating experience.
You will see the grand Gold State Carriage, which was commissioned all the way back in 1760. It has been used for royal purposes, including the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, since the coronation of George IV. The Ascot Landau carriage, which was used for the royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on 19th May 2018 is also on public display at the Royal Mews.
