GREENWICH: BRITAIN'S MARITIME HISTORY
Britain was once the greatest sea power in the world and Greenwich, in East London, was central to its maritime history. On this tour we visit London’s most picturesque neighbourhood. We learn about the explorers, adventurers and pirates who set out across the world from these shores and hear tales of swashbuckling exploits from Britain’s great age of sail, including the adventures of legendary seafarers, such as Walter Raleigh and Captain Cook, the doomed Polar expeditions of Scott and Franklin, the truth behind the legendary mutiny on the Bounty and Lord Nelson’s stunning victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.
