We enjoyed our trip to the Lake District very much. We booked a hotel near Euston Station and were able to leave our luggage at the station, since we were going to another hotel when we came back, and only needed a backpack with needed items for overnight. There was so much to see, as we rode the train to the Lake District and back the next day. Probably our favorite part was visiting Beatrix Potter's home, but we enjoyed learning about the area with our driver Peter Cole I think. He was very helpful, answered questions and gave us the highlights of the area. The hotel was wonderful and very comfortable. Our room overlooked a valley with a castle in the distance. We enjoyed the afternoon tea. We were surprised that our breakfast, lunch and dinner meals, that were listed on our reservations as inclusions in our tour, were not included. I don't know why, but that was very disappointing and rather inconvenient. We paid for our lunch at the hotel, which was delicious, and the chef was able to make a glutin-free meal for my daughter, who has severe Celiac's disease, and usually carries her own food.

LOVED the Lake District! The Lindeth Howe was charming although the room we were given overlooked a car park- not exactly the best view- especially in a place with so much natural beauty. The tour on Day 1 was well planned and the driver/guide good. The return to Oxelholme on Day 2 was awful. Despite confirming and reconfirming the return arrangements to Oxelholme train station with the hotel/tour company multiple times as suggested by Evans Staff at London Euston there was no transport arranged to bring us back to the train station on Day 2. Pegasus Taxi service saved the day and after a hair-rising drive back to Oxelhome we caught our train to London with a minute to spare. A sad ending to a trip to this beautiful part of England.

It was a very enjoyable tour the hotel was very nice, a little far from the town too far to walk but a short Taxi ride. My only comment, is instructions were to be at the Euston station at 7.45 am for 8.00 a.m. I thought the train left at 8.00 and was getting agitated as the representative didn't show until 8.00. Apart from that it was an excellent tour.
