The gentleman leading the tour was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and allowed us to really enjoy the tour. The places he took us were not "popular" or "touristy" places, but places that showcased some of the oldest pubs of the area as well as allowed us to sample beers that we otherwise wouldn't have had. Very impressed with the tour!
Wonderful, knowledgeable guide, fascinating facts about London, pubs, beer and British history. And lovely beer!! Lots more than expected!!
I would recommend this.
We arrived from the US at 6:30am on a Friday morning into London. Because of the drastic time change we knew that we HAD to do something the first day to keep us awake. We chose this tour which started at 2:00pm to do just that. Best decision we made on our trip. We got to our hotel, dropped our stuff, changed clothes and ventured out to the meeting place Trafalgar Square Met our guide Nick who was fantastic. There were 7 of us on this walking tour. I thought assumed we'd get little tastings like shot-glass size of beer in these pubs. Not so! We got full glasses of beer or a flight of medium sized glasses. Plenty of adult beverages served at each stop. I'm not a huge beer drinker so I was allowed to get a glass of wine instead at each stop. At our final stop we sat down and had appetizers. Just enough to hold us over and soak up the alcohol! The tour was great because we went to small local pubs that were down alleys or side streets that we definitely wouldn't have found or stopped at on our own. Surprisingly - they were all pretty full in the middle of the afternoon! Tour ended at 5pm, we grabbed a quick dinner and went back to our hotel to try and get on a UK sleeping schedule. This was a nice leisurely paced afternoon and I would highly recommend this tour!
Pub crawl was lots of fun. Learned a lot about history of beer and London. Our guide Matt was awesome and entertaining. Beer and ale very tasty!
we had a blast and learned a good bit about about the making of beer and its role as a British institution. We returned several times to our favorite on the tour.
