Today, ordinary citizens in Britain enjoy rights and freedoms that would have been unimaginable to people a few centuries ago. These liberties were not handed down from on high but were fought for by courageous men and women who dared to stand against the status quo. On this tour we learn about the founding of the earliest Parliament and the plucky medieval peasants who challenged the power of a tyrannical King. We travel right up to the struggles of the suffragette and chartist heroes who fought for the rights of women and the working classes to vote.
