About this activity

Day 1: London - Oxford – Blenheim Palace

Departing from London to Oxford, we will enjoy a walking tour of this historic city. The famous Christ Church College would be familiar to Harry Potter fans as many scenes were filmed here. We leave Oxford and travel onwards to Blenheim Palace; Sir Winston Churchill was born there in 1874. Inside the Palace can be found a superb collection of tapestries, paintings, and furniture in the magnificent State Rooms. Surrounding the palace are over 2,000 acres of beautiful parkland, lakes, fountains and gardens.

Day 2: Stratford - Upon - Avon - Warwick

We set off for the market town of Stratford-upon-Avon where you will visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

We head to Warwick Castle which is 15 – 20 minutes’ drive from Stratford Upon Avon. Dating back to 914 AD, it has stood as an impressive Medieval Fortress on the banks of the river Avon for the last 1100 years.

Day 3: Cotswolds (Stow-on-the-Wold/Lower Slaughter/Burton-on-Water/Bibury)

The Cotswolds is an area of outstanding natural beauty which is characterised by rolling hills and picture perfect thatched cottages made of yellow Cotswold stone. We will start our tour by visiting a small market town called Stow-on-the Wold and then visit the charming village of Lower Slaughter. Next on the tour is Bourton-on-the-Water known as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswold’s which sits on the River Windrush. Spend some time in this lovely little village and you'll understand why.

We will also stop in one of the most photographed cottage settings which is found in Bibury. Stop by the 16th century cottages of Arlington Row which are framed perfectly by sweeping meadow and a brook that runs alongside it. It's no surprise that this little village has been featured in so many films that try to capture quaint old England.

Day 4: Bath - Stonehenge - London

On our final day we will first stop in the Georgian city of Bath, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. On the walking tour learn about its Roman history and the city’s rebirth in Georgian times including its triumph of architecture in the beautiful Royal Crescent. Also, see the only bridge in the UK and one of three in the world that has buildings on both sides. Many religious buildings such as Bath Abbey are also available to visit and shops of all types and many restaurants and cafes. In the afternoon, we set off for our final stop of the tour; the legendry and mythical Stonehenge site. Explore the mythical standing stones, the Neolithic Houses and the fascinating exhibition which is home to over 250 ancient objects and treasures, including jewellery, pottery and tools. Stonehenge is one of the oldest prehistoric sites in Europe and is also a UN World Heritage Site. We then leave Stonehenge and travel through the counties of England onwards to London where this tour ends.
