Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in the city center for your 4-hour tour of Luang Prabang. Depart in the morning or afternoon to get an overview of well-known temples in the World Heritage–listed town.

Depending on the location of your hotel, the route commonly starts at Vat Xieng Thong, whose temple walls are decorated with delicate gold patterns on a maroon background. Next, see the town from its highest point, Mount Phousi. Also known as the Sacred Mountain, it is the geographical as well as the spiritual center of the city. This popular site is topped by a golden stupa, officially called That Chomsi, which is especially striking from a distance. You may recognize it as it is the first sight that arriving visitors to Luang Prabang will gaze upon. While it's a steep climb up the steps to the top, the view is spectacular and most definitely worth it.

Finally, tour the National Museum (formerly the royal palace), which was built in the early 1900s as a residence for King Sisavangvong. The famed Phra Bang Buddha image is enshrined here and you'll also find a collection of personal artifacts of the royal family, including the royal throne of the Lan Xang Kingdom.

After 4 hours of touring Luang Prabang’s famed sights and temples, you will be returned to your hotel in the city center.
