Day Trip from Forte dei Marmi to Rome with Orbetello Option

About this activity
You will be picked up from your hotel in Forte dei Marmi by your English-speaking driver in a comfortable fully air-conditioned vehicle. You will enjoy a 4-hour scenic drive along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea to your accommodation in Rome with a pit stop half-way to relax.
If you select the optional 3-hour stop in Orbetello you will have a free wine tasting in a typical farm winery in the countryside around Orbetello, a town in Tuscany. It is located on the eponymous lagoon, which is home to an important nature reserve. In the Middle Ages it was a possession of the Aldobrandeschi family, who held it until the 14th century, when it was acquired by the city of Orvieto. After several struggles in the following centuries with the Orsini of Pitigliano and Orvieto, Orbetello was captured by the Sienese Republic.
Your driver will be with you during the entire day trip although he is not permitted to walk around with you in the Orbetello old historical centre. He will still be able to give you information on what you are going to visit, and since your day trip is private, you will be able to customize the itinerary.
Near Orbetello you will have time for lunch (own expense) in one of the oldest historic farms that lies between the low hills of the Tuscan Maremma in a spectacular landscape with olive trees, vineyards and fields of golden grain.
Your day trip concludes with drop-off at your accommodation in Rome or Fiumicino Airport.
