It is, in my opinion, the best trip from Lucerne. Although it was cloudy in Lucerne, we enjoyed bright sunshine once we stepped out from the cog wheel train tunnel at 11,500 feet above the sea level at Jungfraujoch. What a view from all 360 degree angles at the top of Europe. Worth every penny. Our guide, Kid, was a total trip with an intense sense of dry humor and fun. He took a lot of good pictures for our group. However, the man-made ice tunnel was a little "cheesy" when compared to the magnificent view outside.

This is a full 9 hour tour from Lucerne and our tour guide Raymond could not have been better. he gave the tour in several languages and did a great job of keeping track of older travelers that lost their sense of time and direction. The views from the bus and the train were fantastic as was the visit to the top of Europe. This is a real train that travels to the highest station in Europe. From there you travel on a special rail to the top of the world. Well worth the cost of the trip. Do the boat ride around the lake on the day prior to the journey into the alps.

The sites and travel was very good. But unluckily we had a very rude and unwilling guide named KID, from Thailand residing in Switzerland. Right from the beginning of trip he declared he was not the best and does not try to be one. We must not expect any nicety or answers. He narrated as he wished and refused to hear to any question. At Jungfraujoch before we reached he proclaimed that if we the group of 14 could not keep up with him we are on our own to visit all the sites. Then as soon as we got down from the train he vanished leaving us all 65+ group on our own. Using the maps we managed to somehow see all the attractions on our own. Suddenly again appeared when we reached the cafeteria/self serve restaurant. The only positive I have to mention about him is that he got us on the train sitting together as a group. I hope we never meet him again and no other group has to put us with him. Niladri

Make sure the weather is clear otherwise you won't be able to see much. Most other tours going to the top were cancelled due to high winds and snow but our tour guide was determined to go up. Once we got to the top most of the observation deck was closed and you could not see anything due to white out conditions.

My wife and I were glad to have chosen this tour for our honeymoon. The trip was made wonderful by the wonderful sights and the company of our guide Raymond and the driver.

I have only one thing to say, thank you Kid. Only being in the alps surpassed your being your tour guide. I will never forget the beauty of this experience.

The tour itself and the scenery you see is just incredible. We had Kid as our guide and he was exceptional at making sure he got pictures for everyone and knew the best spots/times to get them. This is an expensive trip, just like everything else in switzerland, but it is well worth it. Unless you live in the alps, you just can't see this. My only gripe is that for how expense the tour is, you are not even provided a bottle of water. Even though it is stressed once onboard how important it is to have water. the guide was selling water for 2 francs a bottle, cash only but it just seems silly a bottle of water isn't provided at the seat. We've been on numerous trips like this through viator and a bottle of water is the bare minimum provided. Not a huge deal, we had water with us, but it just feels like nickel and diming you considering how expensive the tour is. Other than that though, fantastic tour, Kid did a great job of keeping a large group together and on time and making sure we all had great pictures to remember!

It was about 3 hours from Lucerne. One thing to be wary of is the weather if you book the tour ahead of time. You may want to wait until the last minute to book, as there isn't much to see when there are clouds engulfing the top. While the cost of the tour is pricey, it is worth having someone who knows the train schedules, has a reserved car for you on the train especially important in busier months and can lead you around. Our tour guide didn't provide much in the way of 'touring' during the ride back and forth nor while at the top. She was friendly and educated on the things asked, just not proactive in providing information. Bus ride was very bumpy and side to side - I don't know if that was due to the drivers driving capabilities or the intense switchbacks up the mountain!!!! Even in early May, it is BUSY!!!! Having a guide to keep us straight was such a relief. Grab yourself some Swiss Alps whisky to enjoy at home. One of the staff recommended a whisky liqueur as well. And apparently this is the mountain where Bollywood movies film if there are any mountain or snow scenes!!!
