Stop At: Temple of Karnak, Luxor Egypt

Karnak Temple is the second favorite place after Giza Pyramids to visit in Egypt. Karnak temple is the biggest temple around Egypt covers an area of 17 hectares and dedicated to god Amon Ra. Construction of the temple started during the Middle Kingdom and continued till the Ptolemaic period. Approximately thirty Pharos contributed to the buildings to make Karnak temple a book of history. One famous part of Karnak is the hypostyle hall, a hall area of 5,000 square meters with 134 massive columns arranged in 16 rows 122 columns are 10 meters high and the other 21 meters high with a diameter of 3 meters.

Luxor Temple was known as the southern of god Amon. The Temple is dedicated to god Amon, his consort Mut and his son Khonsu. The Temple was added to and changed by many Pharos like Amenophis 3, Akhenaton, Tut ankh amon , Seti 1 and Ramses 2 who extend the Temple. During the Christian era, the Temple was transformed into a church, while in the Islamic period the mosque of abou elhagag was built inside the Temple.

Valley of the kings the pharos cemetery during the new kingdom of the 18, 19, 20 dynasties. Their main attraction is the wall paintings since it was believed that the dead man. The wall of the tombs was painted with texts, scenes, prayers, and magical spells to help the dead to do the journey to the underworld. There are 63 tombs of the famous Pharos of Luxor including the tomb of the golden boy Tut Ankh Amon.

Stop At: Colossi of Memnon, Thebes, Luxor Egypt

The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned in Egypt during the Dynasty XVIII. The two Colossi standing like a guard at the entrance to the Amenhotep’s mortuary temple in the west bank of Luxor.
