Cotes du Rhone Tour with Wine and Chocolate Tasting

Leave the city for an entire day and set out along the Rhone for an oenological and gourmet itinerary that combines wine and chocolate. Discover the northern region of Côtes du Rhône and enjoy a stopover in Tain l’Hermitage to visit the Valrhona Cité du Chocolat.
To the south of Lyons, the Côtes du Rhône vineyards stretch along the length of the river. The hillsides form a magnificent landscape and offer breathtaking views. From Cornas to Côte Rôtie, you will be able to savour the most prestigious wines of the region during our wine stopovers. For your ultimate pleasure a gourmet stopover is planned in Tain l’Hermitage. The visit to the Cité du Chocolat will reveal all the secrets of cocoa to you.

You will go directly to Tain L'Hermitage, considered as the capital of the Crozes Hermitage wines. There you will have a first wine tasting and a visit of one estate.

You will have time to have lunch at Tain. With the help of our advice, you will be able to savour a meal at one of the many restaurants set around the typical Place Taurobole or on the banks of the Rhone for a more rural atmosphere.

Then visit the Valrhona chocolate museum, before going to the top of the hill, where you will enjoy a panoramic view on the perched vineyards of Hermitage and the Rhone River. Then, head back to Lyon taking the national road, from where you can admire landscapes and vineyards. 

We will then continue our route northwards towards the Côte Rôtie vineyard. The northernmost vintage in the Rhone Valley enjoys one of the best reputations in the world. With its steep hills and vineyards planted on terraces, this wine-making area will delight you with its unique charms.

Finally, we will visit a family estate and discover its production as we taste five of its wines.
