About this activity
Join your small group and guide near the Palais de Justice in central Lyon to begin your morning or afternoon tour. Get outfitted with an electric bike — equipped for comfortable, effortless riding, letting you pedal, cruise or a combination of both — and set off through the UNESCO World Heritage–listed city.

Steeped in centuries of history and considered the culinary capital of France, Lyon's vibrant mix of monuments, museums, squares, restaurants, bars, shops and markets are a delight to explore — especially by bike. Your exact route may vary depending on the day, but your experienced guide knows all the nooks and crannies where Lyon's true magic lies.

Ride through the Croix Rousse tunnel, lined with colored lights and music and keep your eye out for Lyon Cathedral. Listen as your guide shares stories of Lyon’s rich history and points out both famous attractions and off-the-beaten-path spots only locals know about.

Continue along the banks of the Rhône River, recently renovated for cyclists. Spill out onto Place Bellecour, a famous plaza crowned by a statue of notorious King Louis XIV, and spin past the picturesque boating lake in Tête d'Or park.

During your tour, hop off your bike and head to a local eatery to sample some of Lyon’s regional specialties (depends of the days, the hour and the partners) :
- Regional cold cuts, local cheeses and other tasty bites with local wine or soft
- Home made sweet cake or praline pie with home made refresments, hot drinks or local wine

It's served on sharing platters for you and your fellow food lovers to enjoy together.

After your 30-45-minute stop continue pedaling through Old Town, where many of Lyon’s finest and most historic buildings are found. Here admire the architectural grandeur of Place des Terreaux, bordering City Hall, the stately Palais St-Pierre and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon.

You’ll also ride up the Fourvière Hill to enjoy panoramic views over the city. In addition, visit one of Lyon’s biggest draws, the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. Built in the late 19th century and widely considered to be Lyon’s most iconic building, this stunning church stands proudly above the city, commanding beautiful views over the urban landscape below.

Arrive back at the start point to conclude your tour.

Johanna was a terrific guide - extremely knowledgable and knows a lot of Lyon surprise to share with her bicyclers. I highly recommend this tour.

Do this! It was a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time. The bikes are a little heavy, but once you get used to it, you get around very easily. Our guide was great, spoke perfect English, I'm so sorry I forget her name because she was so lovely and the stop at a pub for the food tasting was just perfect, gave our butts a little rest! We learned a lot about the city and environs, it was just perfect. I would do the same tour again if I came back and I would recommend it to my friends!

We had soo much fun though. The sky was blue, the road was clear and EB is all that we need. Our tour guide was a joker and he's a great guy.

Great experience for us to tour Lyon.My partner found the bikes very heavy and all the frame size are the same so we couldn't adjust the seat to what was exactly comfortable/needed. The guide was very good about this and we managed OK....we took it slowly. After some lite food samples we travelled back to base and another guide took us up the hill to Cathederal. A terrific tour with great guides.

Our guide Pauline was great. The electric bikes were easy to use even for 65 year olds. Wonderful way to see the lovely Lyon. Well worth your time don't miss this one. A great value!

Only 4 on this tour so personal attention from great guide Melanie. Electric bike easy to operate and saves a lot of energy though still fairly tough to ascend Fouvriere especially if older and out of shape like myself. Nice stop for tasty charcuterie with cheese and a glass of wine. Highly recommended

Absolute great tour, lots of food more than enough and the guide was excellent, shared enough interesting history, was very accommodating with photo taking, excessively patient and professional with a rather annoying American women and her daughter. Electric bikes were a hit especially for our Mountain climb to the Basilica which housed amazing views of Lyon.
