I enjoyed the trip to these wonderful cities with my mother and younger brother. It was a fabulous tour that guided us through the countryside of Castile and León. Avila and Segovia had their charms and it was definitely an unforgettable experience with the exception of the lackluster meal at the restaurant Mesón El Cordero, which was the worst meal I had during my entire trip in Spain. I was expecting more food for the price that we paid. The soup was served in a shallow bowl and it had as much character as a dry sponge. The salad was a basic mix of romaine, tomatoes, sliced white onions, and a few olives in olive oil and vinegar. The biggest disappointment was the suckling pig. Granted, the pig is a suckling: it's not going to be as meaty as its fully-grown form. But you expect a bit more food that a sliver of pork. Otherwise, the trip is wonderful. The tour guide from Cordova, whose name I forgot (sorry!), was very informed and wasted little of our time in explaining the history and charm of both cities. Select this tour but skip the "gourmet lunch".
We had a splendid time during the tour. A well knowledged guide, Carmen, and a safe driver, Antonio, made it possible to enjoy and learn about the history of the 2 cities.
I rate Rafael a 3 because he was enthusiastic but it’s very upsetting that he did not clearly explain that our lunch (alone) time should be used to see the aqueducts. We waited around in the shops and sitting around thinking we were getting a tour of the aqueducts. When he came back he said if you wanted to see it you had time now we must move on. We would’ve climbed up and seen it but his instructions were horrible. Very disappointed actually I’m changing it to a 2.
A fun trip, well organized. For a full day tour it didn't seem that many hours, breaking up the trip in 2 separate sites worked well. Would recommend.
Visited Avila and Segovia on a cold April day. Avila tour was fine. Segovia was terribly disappointed. I was left at lunch and told to meet at a specific time at a church. No map. How many churches are in Segovia??? more than one. I was lost and abandoned. Found my way back to the bus and waited. Tour guide arrived and never asked about my well being. Never again.
Our guide, Catelina, was awesome. The local company was excellent. We really enjoyed Segovia. We wished we had .ore time.
This was an excellent tour with an excellent guide (Javier) and a very good coach driver. Javier was informative on the way to the cities and on the tours of both places. We would recommend the upgraded lunch to make the day even more special.
We had a fabulous guide who was sensitive to my special needs due to hearing difficulties. The tour was thorough and gave us plenty of opportunity to explore the areas.
The tour itself is great. Wished we had more time to take pics of the outside wall at Avila. There was a 15 min rest stop before going in. The guide isn't clear that this is your only time. Segovia was great. However, we booked the Lunch upgrade. Lunch was awful. Save your money and do it on your own. If you're picked up at your hotel, you will not be dropped off at the end. This is clear in the booking itself. But several people didn't read the fine print and were upset that they needed to take a cab back.
