Stop At: Royal Palace of Madrid, Calle Bailen, 28071 Madrid Spain

The Royal Palace was built in the XVIII century upon the ancient Baroque Italian style fortress of the Habsburg. It is one of the most beautiful and best preserved palaces in Europe and a symbol of the permanence and consolidation of Madrid as the capital of the Kingdom. The Palace was the official residence of the Spanish Monarchy from 1765 to 1931. To date, the most stunning receptions of the Spanish Crown are celebrated there: audiences, dinner parties, signature of agreements and the traditional ceremony of presentation in which foreign ambassadors present Credential Letters to His Majesty the King.

We will visit the Armory Square (exterior of the palace), the Grand Staircase, the King Charles III’s Apartments, the Queen’s Apartments, the Banqueting Hall, the Royal Chapel and the Throne Room and the Crown Room. After the guided tour, you may visit on your own the Royal Armory and enjoy the views from the viewpoint of the Armory Square.

Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

The tour was very interesting although the guide’s English wasn’t very good. She seemed to give longer explanations in Spanish.

We learned the secrets of the enormous palace viewing about 30 of the 2,800 rooms. The palace has an abundance of masterpiece artwork, period décor, and architectural detail. Spanish history was imparted to us in an interesting way. Additionally, the Cathedral

I bought these tickets for me and my boyfriend and they were a great value. We were with a group and the tour guide was excellent. He answered all our questions and gave great explanations on each room we visited. The tour wasn’t very long, only and hour and a half or so, and it’s a great way to spend he afternoon.

We have taken Viator tours all over Europe, and this is the first time we had a terrible guide. He rushed us through, shared very little information about each room of the Palace, and gave no chance to ask questions. He would leave one room, go in to the next and start talking before we were all with him therefore we could not hear what he said. Our group observed another Viator group on the same tour and the guide was pointing out artifacts and telling stories about the furniture, the paintings, the serving pieces, etc. This tour was a disappointment because of the guide.

This is a great tour. You are on before the crowds. The headphones let you hear well. Beautiful palace. You can stay at the palace after the tour and go back to some rooms, or to the armory. We walked next door to the cathedral and then to the crypto

The tour was to be in English, but instead it was in both Spanish and English. As a result, a lot of time was wasted to hear the explanation in another language. Also, the tour was rushed and no time was provided for people to ask questions.

If you plan to visit this Royal Palace of Madrid, a guided tour is must, otherwise there is no point. Guide was extremely good and made the tour memorable.

Wonderful experience. Skipping the line is the best way to Ho. Our guide was initiative, knowledgeable and answered our questions thoroughly. The Palace is simply awe inspiring. A must see in Nadrid
