Let me preface this review by saying that I would absolutely book this again and any of my negative comments are aimed and giving feedback to the operators so they can improve their service. Was easy enough to find the meeting point, luckily it was just a short walk from the hotel I was staying in, but at that time in the morning its hard to find anything open so it would have been nice to be offered a cup of coffee or tea to wake me up. Our group that day was fairly small, about 20 people, so we were taken on a small coach (i think 23 people max capacity). It was comfortable but the rear seats that we got are a bit elevated compared to the window height so it meant that it was not easy to see some of the sights when driving by. Our guide was OK, to be honest not the most lively tour guide but certainly up to the task in an efficient but maybe subdued way, I did have trouble hearing some of the commentary. We had lunch around 1pm in Avila (our 2nd city) which was decent, but perhaps lacking in choice. You only get to choose from 2 options and if you are not a fan of pork, you will be disappointed. Don't get wrong, the restaurant staff go out of their way to cater to everyone's needs, but its still limiting if you don't like the main option. So here is the big problem for me about this tour, when booking there was an option to choose English or Spanish and of course I chose English, and yes out tour guide did speak English but he also conducted the Spanish tour .... AT THE SAME TIME, so every stop and every explanation was repeated. To be honest it was rather annoying and the whole day I felt that perhaps they didn't have enough people for separate tours so they just combined the Spanish and English groups. Whatever the reason it takes away from the enjoyment and I have not had this happen on other tours. If you book English, it should be exclusively in English. A few of the other reviews mentioned that the trip was a bit rushed, for me it was not rushed but maybe badly paced and that repeating of commentary at every historic spot didn't help at all. Again, its still very worth it and a great way to see three cities in one day if you have a lack of time to visit them individually or many don't need a deep dive type of tour.
Totally recommended! I really enjoyed every second of this experience. Thank you so much WE Madrid to build these unforgettable memories!
