Your first stop dedicated to Parvathi at Meenakshi Amman Temple, the mother of Lord Shiva. Built between 1623 and 1655 CE, it was one of the top 30 nominees of the' New Seven Wonders of the World' and known to have an anticipated 33,000 numbers.
In addition to that, the prominent ' Thousand Pillared Hall. ' Each column images the Dravidian gods are the Musical Pillars, just outside this lobby, to the west. Each column generates a distinct melodic note when it is hit.
Your visit would be the Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, one of the southern wonders. Madurai was a major trading center visited by the Portuguese, Netherlands and other Europeans during the 17th century.As such, all these individuals and an Italian architect were hired by the king to design this huge palace. The palace's layout involves Dravidian, Islamic and European style architecture. The palace involves a large courtyard encircled by huge circular pillars and a room with a throne, covered by a 60-70 ft high dome.
