When you arrive in the Palma de Mallorca port, make the most of your time on shore with a private shore excursion to Valldemossa and Palma. Meet your local guide just outside the port and relax in a comfortable private minibus. Enjoy views of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea as you head north along Mallorca's west coast on the approximate 25-minute drive.
In Valldemossa, explore the village with your guide. Walk around cobblestone streets where traditional stone houses are decorated with flowers and other plants. Visit the Royal Carthusian Monastery, built in the 14th century as a royal residence and converted into a monastery of the Carthusian order in the 19th century. Grab a coffee in one of the numerous cafes (own expense) and admire views of the area. Nestled in a valley of the Tramuntana mountain range, Valldemossa offers great views of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Serra de Tramuntana.

Our tour guide made this excursion come to life! We were a small family group of 7 and she kept us all engaged with the sites and history of Validemossa and Palma de Mallorca. I don't know how to describe good this tour became.
Great tour of Valldemossa which we thought was a special place! Encourage your guide to spend extra time there. While our guide gave us free time, we didn't realize we could have used more and wish we had for a leisurely stop at a cafe. Palma de Mallorca is a big city and was okay but we had seen a lot of big cities on our trip. Rating is because of the Valldemossa experience.

This shore excursion was very good, but I would change a few small things if I had to do it all over again. I would have included to see the 'Catedral de Mallorca.' We just saw it from a distance as we are driving to Valldemossa. Weather was beautiful, be ready for some walking, though.
We enjoyed our tour very much, but most of all we appreciated our tour guide, Pete. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and personable. Most importantly he was right by our ship when we disembarked. There was no stress looking for our tour guide. The excursion was very enjoyable, but we all really enjoyed the Valldemossa part. It is such a special place where only 2000 people live. We were able to relax in a local cafe and appreciate the slower pace of life. Our friends who we have traveled with many times decided that Valldemossa would be a wonderful place to revisit. We have used Viator numerous times and think that Pete is one of their best guides.
