Tuna Canyon Park links over 18,000 acres of contiguous protected open space from Topanga State Park west to Las Flores Canyon. More than half of the property lies within Los Angeles County Significant Ecological Area Number 10. Deep canyons and ridges support a rich mosaic of coastal Southern California plant communities including sycamore riparian woodland, coastal sage scrub and native grasslands. Tuna Creek, one of the most pristine aquatic habitats in the Santa Monica Mountains, courses through the eastern end of the property to the ocean.

Pass By: Pacific Coast Highway, 147161, CA

The legendary Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) was first started in the 1930s, and remains a marvel of human effort that hugs over 900 kilometers (600 miles) of California’s rugged and beautiful coastlines. It is one of the most astoundingly scenic roads in the world, meant to be traversed slowly, while gasping at the mountains, towering trees, expansive beaches and endless sky. It also affords travelers an unparalleled opportunity to dip into all the character California has to offer: pioneer outposts, surfing villages, farm-fresh foods, local wine, roadside kitsch, Hollywood glitz and bohemia.

This trip was the third we booked via Viator, the other two were good but this was a real waste of money. For a start the tour lasted 1hour and 20 minutes, somewhat short of the 2 hours promised. We did not stop at Malibu Pier , we just slowed down as we went past, the same happened at the Getty Museum and the stop at Malibu Beach was technically correct, except its at the far end of the beach, on a 50 yard strip of beach, you could not walk further as it was signposted as Private. All in all a real let down.
