About this activity
Leon city tour can be done from any location for example Corinto Port, Granada, Managua, Chinandega and other locations nearby.
From Corinto Port the tour starts at the gate no. 3 of the port(where usually the tourists go out to reach the main town) and might take about 5 minutes walk. At the gate one of our guides will wait for you and show you our air-conditioned car or bus. An English-speaking guide will start explaining and showing about Corinto Port which is a small town on an island.
Along the way will be possible for you to see the Nicaraguan way of living, the tropical landscape with plantations of sugar cane, rice and peanuts-in season, and if the weather conditions allow having a clear sky the volcanoes will be seen from the distance.
In Leon city will visit two sites of historical importance which are the indigenous neighborhood of Sutiava and the second largest church in Latin America “the Cathedral of Leon”. There is a chance to do a little shopping of souvenirs at the central park or a small market behind the cathedral or having a cup of Nicaraguan coffee and a snack in a air conditioned place.
After enjoying of Leon highlights we will be heading back to the cruise ship and depending on the time we can stop on a beach 15 minutes before the port.
From Corinto Port to Leon takes 1.20 hours one way.
Time spent at the site will depend on the departure of your cruise ship and if it is not a private tour you can agree with your tour friends when to head back to the port.
Note: your guide will be letting you know the timing according to the stops or any other assistance you might need.
