About this activity
You will depart for one of NH’s best chocolate makers, learn how chocolates are filled, and in some cases dusted with gold. There will be plenty of samples for everyone to taste. This is a sweet way to begin any trip.
Next it is on to one of NH Wineries. Upon arrival at the winery you will have a tour of the facility learning how a small winery bottles and makes wine. Before tasting some of the wines you will learn some of the terms used to describe wine and how to choose the right wine for the food being served.You will be able to taste several different types of wine to help you identify the wines that are most pleasing to you. At the wineries, a talk will be given to help you determine why one type of wine will enhance the flavors of a dish over another. You will learn why grapes are allowed to freeze on the vines in order to raise the sugar level and produce dessert wines and why dessert wines become so expensive.
The tour is approximately 8 hours and ends when you return to your original departure point in the evening.
