About this activity

You'll be picked up in an air-conditioned car in the lobby of your hotel at 8:00 am. You will have a separate driver and guide who is a regional tour guide license holder from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
At 08:30 am, our driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel. Drive straight to jetty to take private boat trip to Mingun.

Take a boat trip about 1 hr to Mingun, located on the western bank of the Ayeyarwady River.

Arrive Mingun, visit huge unfinished Mingun Pagoda built between 1790 and 1797 which was split by earthquake in 1838. It is possibly the world's largest pile of bricks and World’s largest working bell of 87 tons cast in 1808 by Bodawpaya.

Back to Mandalay by boat.
Visit Mandalay Palace was built of teak wood on raised brick plinth gilded with gold and vermilion. The queens' chambers are laid out according to priority - 1 Southern, 2 Northern and 3 lesser queens in the West. Mandalay Palace took five years to construct, from 1857 to 1861.
Visit Ku Tho Daw Pagoda also known as world's largest book, surrounded by 729 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist scriptures. It was built by King Mindon in 1857, modeled on the Shwezigon Pagoda at Nyaung U.
Proceed to Golden Palace Monastery, which was once part of the palace complex where King Mindon lived.
