Travel to old capitals near Mandalay

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel. From here cross the river to Sagaing Hill, where you will see hundreds of pagodas dotting the hillside. Stop at the University of Sitagu and discover the history of Buddhism and the saga. After this stop, cross the river again and board a small ferry to Inwa. By now you have probably whetted your appetite so it's time to have lunch at the river, tasting some traditional mohingya (fish soup) laphet thohk (pickled lead salad). After that, you will be taken to Inwa by a private horse cart and visit some of the many old monasteries scattered throughout this ancient capital. Much of Inwa has been reclaimed by nature, with buildings crumbling and trees rooted in various places. Exploring Inwa on foot is certainly worth the effort. The last stop of the day will be in Amarapura. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Myanmar due to the famous U Bein bridge which is located here. Cross this teak deck and capture beautiful photos of the sun setting behind the bridge, a great way to end the day. Then back to your hotel.
