Corregidor Day Trip from Manila

1 day
About this activity
You will be met by our tour coordinator at the hotel lobby at 6:45am, and transfer you to the jetty port where you’ll board a 150-seater ferry boat, which will bring you to the island, located about 26miles West of Manila.

Upon arrival, visitors will board to the pre-war type streetcars called “tramvias” touring around the island fortress. Corredigor Island -- “The Rock” as it became known during World War II, was the last Filipino-American bastion to fall to the Japanese. Enjoy a guided visit to the island’s many “silent guns” and historical landmarks. Be mesmerized by the Light and Sound Show inside the cavernous Malinta Tunnel, which served as General Douglas McArthur’s headquarters during the siege.

Lunch buffet will be served at the Corregidor Inn around 3pm, we will then take a ferry back to Manila and transfer to the hotel.

The Corregidor Day Trip from Manila appears to be the same no matter which one you pick. You are escorted to the harbor and given tickets. You board the ferry, climb up on a tram and the guide from the park explains things as you meander and see the major sites on the island. The tour is very educational and the trams allow picture taking from their open sides. Although our brochure promised three bottles of water on this tour, they never materialized and we forced to purchase our own.

I have been here before but wanted my husband to experience it too. This trip is totally worth it. I really wanted to spend overnight at the Corregidor Inn but it wasn't available due to renovations. Food was great, the staff were awesome. I just wish our group was separate from other groups in the Light and Sound experience because all I heard was the voice of the interpreter.
