Atlas Mountains and Sahara Trek (5days)

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakesh--Imlil-Toubkal Refuge 3208m

Pass By: Trekking in Morocco, 1 Imm Mamoune 115 OLM quartier, Marrakech 40000, Morocco
Pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech to get to The starting point for this trek ; Imlil,in the mountains, and here you will meet your guide and supply mules. From here you'll trek for 5 hours or so towards the Neltner Refuge at 3207m, having lunch along the way, before staying in either a refuge or a tent, depending on the conditions.

Day 2: Toubkal Refuge--Toubkal Summit 4167-Ait souka

The second day will see you ascend the highest peak in Northern Africa, Mount Toubkal, which is 4167m. From the top you will be able to see the désert, back to refuge for lunch and then all the way to Ait souka village where you stay in local guest house.

10 to 12 hours walking.

Day 3: Imlil-Ouarzazat-Dades Gorges

On Day 3y ou and your party will transfer to the World Heritage site at Ait Benhaddou, which has provided the scenery for over 20 films. You will pass over Tichka pass, do some walking in Ait benhaddou, lunch and go through Ouarzazat to get to Dades valley, stay in Dades gorges.

Day 4: Dades to Todra and to Merzouga Erg Chebbi

After your breakfast at the hotel, you and your group will transfer to the Todra Gorge, a gigantic fault line that divides the Atlas Mountains as a narrow valley peppered with Berber villages and rises to 300m. After your lunch, you will head deeper into the desert, to a tiny village called Merzouga, where you will trek overnight with the camels (you will get to sleep, do not worry!) to the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes – the highest dunes in Morocco. You will then ride your camels for an hour and a half at sunset and sleep under the stars at a desert camp after a welcome Berber meal.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi-Marrakech

The final day will present you with wonderful views of sunrise in the desert ,camel ride along the dunes for about 1hour and half ,meet the driver and drive all the way back to Marrakech arrive at around 17h00.
