Stop At: Palacio da Bahia, 5 Rue Riad Zitoun el Jdid, Marrakech 40000 Morocco
The word “Bahia” literally means the brilliant or the magnificent. There is a belief that the name is possibly referring to the Wife of Ba Ahmed – a Grand vizier and the palace promoter. The palace was designed by Marrakchi Si Mohammed El-Mekki El-Mesfioui – an excellent architect, true labyrinth, and a strong man. Builders from Morocco and Andalusia constructed the palace. Every ceramic used was imported from Tetouan, marbles were from Meknes in Morocco, and the painted cedar wood applied for ceiling were brought from the Middle Atlas.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Saadian Tombs, Rue de la Kasbah, Marrakech 40000 Morocco
In 1557, the Royal Necropolis belonging to the Saadian family was created after the death and burial of Prince Mohammed Sheik. Afterward, his son raised the place as a Koubba also called KoubbatLallaMessaouda, where he was also buried in the year 1574. Ahmed El-Mansour also buried his mother within the same location, followed by his next three successors. It is considered as one of the first set of a burial chamber.

Stop At: Koutoubia Mosque, Rue el Ksour, Derb Sabai, 13, Marrakech 40000 Morocco
Koutoubia is undoubtedly one of the magnificent structures in Marrakech, and also it is considered as one of the fascinating mosques of the Western Muslim World. Historically, it is a dual-purpose sanctuary combined with a minaret. In 1157, the original Koutoubia was opened, while the second Koutoubia with a minaret was erected a year later under the commandment of Abdelmoumen. We did this tour on our first morning in Marrakech and it was a great way to see the Médina and get your bearings in the city. Our guide was very knowledgable and charming and ensured that everybody was engaged in the tour.
