Crossing Atlas montains was a very cool experience. Rashid our guide was amazing. We ate a very good food and had a funny ride camel
A highly recommended trip and a welcome escape from the bustle of Marrakech. Pick up was very simple, and our drive was in a very comfortable car with an informative and knowledgable driver, and whilst being a long drive, the scenery was nothing short of stunning. Several stops included multiple scenic stops for photograph opportunities, a slightly too long stop at an Argan oil production centre, a camel ride which was admittedly very simple just a back and forth ride but the scenery of the area was nice and heck, it’s still the experience of riding a camel! The trip truly took wing when we were handed over to our local Berber guide Hassan, who first led us around a lovely village market before accompanying us and our driver (also named Hassan) further into the mountains. Truly not just the highlight of the trip but the main memory of the trip was when we left the car and began our walk with Hassan. Yes it is a long walk and you should be prepared to get minorly out of breath. First led to a lovely house with a rooftop that grants the most incredible view, to be fed an outstanding tajine as part of a three course lunch. Also taken to a small waterfall, but then to my favourite part, Hassan’s own village and surrounding area, which despite us being a little tired by this point, was a borderline life changing experience. Coming across these wonderful people and their way of life, which to many of us can seem like a step back in time, was just wonderful, and all nestled in the most amazing scenery that you would scarcely believe to be real. All the while accompanied by our generous, friendly and attentive guide. His language skills were a little bit basic but it didn’t detract from how much we appreciated him and his community. A highly recommended trip for anyone in the area wishing to make the most of Morocco, and especially those wishing for a breath of fresh air outside the madness of the city!
We booked this tour pretty last minute and did not really know what to expect having never visited Morocco or Marrakech before. Hassan the guide and his driver came to pick us up directly from the hotel, and then drove us to various stops, including an Argan Oil cooperative, for a camel ride, a walk over a bridge in the mountains, and then for a trek in the Atlas Mountains and finishing with lunch in a Berber house. The scenery was breath-taking, and they made sure to ask exactly what we wanted to do and tailored the day to the length of route we wanted to take, and made sure that we were happy the whole time. Hassan really made the day, he was so knowledgeable, and great to chat to, and he kept us amused on the trek, in particular when he and I laughed together at my husband who kept slipping down the rocks in his unsuitable shoes ha! I would highly recommend taking a tour with these guys, it really made our short break in Morocco something very memorable:
One of the highlight of our trip! Hassan team was simply amazing. If you are going to Marrakech, this is a must do trip. The Atlas mountain is so beautiful and the guides extraordinary. Lunch in a very small berber village was awesome. Shukraan for such wonderful moments!
