Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi
Stop At: Merzouga Desert, Merzouga Morocco
Starting in Fes, you’ll be up for an early breakfast before beginning your ascent into the Middle Atlas Mountains – a truly breathtaking part of the world. Winding through beautiful lush forests, past jagged rock faces and through Berber villages, this part of our tours will take most of the day. You’ll then descend toward the Sahara desert, stopping halfway for lunch in Midelt – a town famous for its beautiful stones and historic fossils.
Continuing on picturesque mountain roads overlooking the winding Oued Ziz, you, along with our Desert Tours team, will pass through Kasbahs and palm groves heading toward the adobe-coloured city of Er-Rachidia, arriving at our destination of Merzouga in the late afternoon. After some rest, our team will help you saddle up your own camel for a safe, beautiful journey through one of the most stunning and inhospitable parts of the world – the Sahara Desert. Journeying for about two hours, you’ll bear witness to a desert sunset before making camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Sleeping in a traditional nomadic tent under a night sky lit with thousands of stars and surrounded by Berber music and food, both provided by your guide, this promises to be an unforgettable night.
Duration: 8 hours

• Dinner
Accommodation included: Overnight in desert camp
Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorge
Stop At: Gorges du Dades, R704 Gorges Dades, Boumalne Dades 45350 Morocco

After breakfast, you’ll head toward Erfoud and the Todra Gorges beyond that. En route, you’ll pass by nomad people going about their lives. On arrival, you’ll have the chance to climb the 300 meter-tall gorges and view the beautiful river valleys from an excellent vantage point. These same valleys make for a gorgeous journey as we turn towards the southeast of Morocco. Our desert tours then have you continue past the strange rock formations of Tamnalt Hill before arriving in Dades Gorge where you’ll spend the night.
