We at " Jamaa Lafna Square - Experiences " have designed this tour to save you time and energy avoiding queuing. Every day at 3pm we gather together at The Mellah Square known also as "Place des Ferblantiers" where an introduction of the different quarters surrounding is given to you by our Expert Tour Guide. Thanks to its strategic location this vibrant square now is in the junction for 3 mean quarters of Marrakech: The Kasbah and royal section for centuries, The Mellah and former Jewish quarter, Riad Zitoun which connects from here to world known Jamaa Lafna Square.
After a smooth introduction of the flow of the tour we will head to legendary 19th century Bahia Palace. With tickets bought in advance we enter straight away and start our visit. The palace was bought by Ba Moussa trustful Vizir of the King around 1860s where he both worked as an office, for receptions and as a residential. First stop is by the riad this stunning courtyard with beautiful fountain, symetrical fruit trees garden, arches richly decorated with plaster and stucco. A riad in Morocco is a home which has four elements:
1- Be in a Medina ancient town
2- Has a courtyard in the middle with doors, windows facing
3- Garden with fruit trees
4- Fountain to take water and ornamental
The journey through this mystical Palace continue to visit reception rooms where political meetings were held, other riads and squares, gardens and different pavillions. We have chosen the right time for you to admire the tranquil feel of the most visit historical site in Marrakech.
Not far is The Badii Palace founded by the Saadian royal family in the 16th century to celebrate winning the " The Battle Of The Three Kings " where the Saadian defeated both Spanish and Portuguese penetrating in north of Morocco. The " INCOMPARABLE " was rised up over ground level to show Highness, allow water to flow under it in complicated water system but to admire its gardens from a higher level. Visit rooms for servants, esteemed Ambassadors, Pools to stock the water and decorative, attend the 5 min video of the former original palace, stand under impressive mud walls with storks nestilng in their funny nests and the MUST-See terrace which gives a birds eye view over the whole Medina.
The tour continues with a visit to The local fruit & vegetables market before concluding your tour at The same starting point "Mellah Square"
