About this activity
Travel from Marseille and head out along the road in your air-conditioned coach to traditional and charming Provençal town of Aix en Provence. Widely known as the home of famous Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne, Aix has a great deal to offer visitors and is a wonderful excursion from bustling Marseille.

Take a walk with your guide along the tree-lined Cours Mirabeau and perhaps take time to photograph the beautiful 17th- and 18th-century private mansions that line the avenue.

Continue onward and discover the boutiques, cafes and town squares of Aix en Provence’s Old Town (Vieil Aix). Explore the markets, stroll at your leisure and take in sights such as Albertas Square, City Hall, the Fountain of the Four Dolphins, Cardeurs Square, the Fountain of the Preachy and the Saint Sauveur Cathedral.

After four hours discovering the delights of Aix en Provence, return to Marseille where your tour will come to an end.

From April 1st 2019, discover local specialties like the Calissons, the nougat or tapenade.

We were notified to meet at the Radisson Blu in Marseille @ 10:00am. Our ship docked and we rushed to get off to secure a taxi ride to the hotel to be on time for the tour. We arrived promptly @ 10:00am at a cost of $20 Euro. Upon arrival the guide was on the phone locating the balance of his tour group who happened to be at the ship dock. Rather than starting our tour on time we had to go back to the pier so he could pick up a group of 4. This ended up costing us another 75 minutes and of course we spent $20 Euro neeedlessly as we could have just waited at the pier. Very poor coordination.

A little disappointed in the delivery of the tour. We went to the designated pick up point and were met by a delightful guide, Gail. We were told that as they had a shortage of tour guides we were picking up some guests from a cruise ship that would join us. We had to wait for them to be picked up which caused a delay. Another group had their day completely rearranged. My wife wanted to see the Cezanne option but felt she could not voice her preference against the majority of the group who did not want to go, so she missed out. This option was on our booking confirmation as part of the tour. Very disappointed. We were told we were getting more time but this was only because we were delayed in starting the tour. Overall the tour was acceptable in that we spent time on market day Saturday in the centre of Provence - not the itinerary that was eagerly anticipated.

This is not a tour but simple tranfer. The driver took us to Aix en Provense, left us at the center, told us to come back to the same point after 2 hours and 30 minutes and took us back to Marseille. We could have done that by public bus at a very low cost. Go to train station in Marseille and take a bus to Aix en Provence.

Great pick up and great guide. It was an extremely comfortable ride there for 30m with stunning views. I must point out all you get is the guide driving you there with three hours of your own free time. I recommend visiting the area but there are other cheaper routes to do this.

We had a wonderful tour with our guide, Lea. There were just the two of us on this tour! Our guide accompanied us on a walking tour and then we had about 60-90 minutes to explore on our own. It was a good overview of Aix but you would definitely need more time to see everything. This met our expectations and more!
