Bulawayo - Full Day Matopos Tour

9:00 AM pick depart Bulawayo for Matopos National Park.

Unearth the wonders of the Matopos National Park on a full-day Matopos tour. Matopos is one of the most arresting and under-rated national parks in Zimbabwe, peppered with red-tinged granite kopjes and wooded valleys that are rich in human history. Your tour will depart at 9am and commence with an exploration of the superb collection of San Bushmen rock art before moving onto the tomb of Cecil John Rhodes. This mining magnate and founder of Rhodesia chose the Motopos Hills as his final resting place due to its beautiful views and serene environment and his grave is carved out from the rock and marked by a brass plaque. At around midday you will depart the park for a light lunch consisting of cold meats and salad before entering the game section of Matopos where white rhino, large concentrations of leopard and Verreaux’s eagle await. Rhino tracking will round off your day as you follow the spoor of these immense animals with a professional guide.
