About this activity
Moremi game reserve is situated in the central and eastern part of the Okavango. The reserve is widely considered as the finest wildlife reserve in Africa with a diversity of habitats combining acacia and mophane woodlands with floodplains and lagoons. The reserve is spectacular for game viewing and bird watching which includes all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species and it’s over 4000 species of birds. Upon arrival at Moremi Game Reserve, game viewing will begin immediately. A packed lunch will be served en-route.

Day 2

Moremi Game Reserve-Khwai

After breakfast, we will depart Moremi to Khwai at North gate. Khwai has a huge number of impala while in the dry season large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, elephant and zebra flock into the reserve from Kalahari in search of food and water. Birds which are found in the reserve include Sacred Ibis and Crested Crane.

Day 3

Khwai-Savuti

After breakfast depart in the morning from Khwai to Savuti which is part of Chobe National Park. It is called Savuti because a certain chief called Sauté used to live there with his tribe. The drive is a bit longer from Khwai to Savuti, however, the drive is much more enjoyable as you will see lots of birds and animals on the way. The scenery is amazing and very African looking, with lots of umbrella thorn, acacia tortilis with giraffe feeding and many more including the most photographed bird, lilac breasted roller, a national bird of Botswana.

Later on the evening, storytelling around the camp fire after dinner.

Day 4

Savuti-Linyanti

The following morning after breakfast depart Savuti to Linyanti. Linyanti is situated north of Savuti in a corner of the Chobe National Park. Linyanti Swamp is one of the most attractive areas in the park. Linyanti River follows a line representing the extreme south western extension of East Africa's Great Rift Valley. Linyanti River is in a way similar to the Okavango Delta with its papyrus-lined waterways, extensive reed banks and towering riverine forest. The river forms a swamp area, remind ascent of the one found in the Okavango. It boasts large concentrations of elephant, lion, sable, roan, hippos, and wild dog, building to a peak in the dry winter months. The area also offers spectacular birding year round and is best known for its enormous herds of elephant which move down to Linyanti River at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the main rains arrive. Therefore we will have time for game viewing and the trip ends in Kasane.

Day 5

Linyanti-Kasane

On the departure day you will drive to Kasane and then be transferred to the airport to continue with other travel arrangements.
