Itinerary

Stop At: Stone Island (Isla de las Piedras), Stone Island, Mazatlan Mexico

This tour starts off by picking you up from either your Mazatlan hotel or cruise ship terminal. Your guide will proceed by showing you the most interesting and important highlights in Old Mazatlan, giving you time at each area to get out and enjoy the environment and history. For example, you can admire some of the most beautiful views of the city where the Old Spanish Fort was located and where the original cannon is still placed.

You also won't want to miss the cliff diving show, where a brave diver plunges into a mere 8 feet of water from 45 feet high!

Stop At: Mazatlan Cathedral, Calle 21 de Marzo 21 Plaza de la Republica, Mazatlan 82000 Mexico

Learn what makes the Historical Center unique and take some time to wander the downtown area where the Cathedral, main plaza and central market are located. After exploring the main highlights in Old Mazatlan, you will head to the docks where the boat awaits, to cross us over to the Stone Island and enjoy some of the most amazing beaches.

This is where you will have lunch and enjoy an open bar. If you're up to it there will be a variety of beach activities included for you to enjoy, such as horse back riding, boogie boards, kayaking, banana boat, or a horse cart tour. Two activities per person are included along with lunch and open bar.

We were fortunate to have just ourselves with our english speaking guide on this tour which took us initially thru Historico Mazatlan then onto a catamaran to Stone Island to bask on the beach and enjoy several activities while there, including a delicious lunch of chicken/beans/rice and beverages. We chose just the donkey and cart ride thru town and our escort happened to have lived in my hometown in Arizona so it was an extra special conversation. As we were the only english speaking visitors the captain made of point of addressing us as Arizona which helped me que into his tour information. Once returned to the dock, we continued our tour back thru Mazatlan and received detailed information to our questions about the sites. Our guide stayed with us the entire time rather than dropping us off so we always had a resource close by. We saw people enjoying the banana boats, the quads, the horseback riding and swimming while we kicked back and soaked up the sun with an abundance of liquid refreshments. A thoroughly enjoyable day! Thank you Enrique.

Our Guide George was very good and was knowledgeable about Mazatlan. The downtown stop at the church and the market gave us time to experience those two cultural attractions as well as the panoramic view of the city from the hill top and George did not push us from a time perspective. We were disappointed in a few things. First the cliff jumpers were only operating on an additional gratuity of 25.00. Secondly, the horse back ride was a 3 block circle which I would have enjoyed going further for a longer time even if it was a separate charge. The carriage ride around the village was good allowing us to view the general culture and was 15-20 min long. The food was good and our guide's service to us was excellent.

Both the tour guides from the van and the island were excellent. The lunch hit the spot. My only complaint is that the activities on the island were quite short.

This was a disappointing tour. Our guide was not informative about Mazatlan and not interactive. He also didn't speak very good English, which I expect on a tour like this. We had a long wait for our boat to Stone Island. It seemed unorganized. The access to Stone Island was the only good part of the tour. It was well-managed on the island. The Old Town Sightseeing portion of the tour is a joke. The guide dropped us off at the cathedral and market, but didn't come with us to provide information. I went back to Old Town on my own and learned much more from free walking tour websites.
