About this activity
Your adventure begins at one of two conveniently located offices: Mile 238.9 Parks Highway in Denali Park or Mile 1/2 Otto Lake Road in Healy. You will check in with our friendly office staff who will have you sign our Acknowledgement of Risk form. The next step involves getting into one of our custom made drysuits. These drysuits have a latex neck, latex wrists and waterproof zipper to ensure maximum protection from the glacial water. These drysuits do no insulate you, so we require that you dress in warm, long sleeved layers and warm socks underneath the drysuit for comfort and hygiene. Once outfitted, you will be taken to the river by van or bus, where you will receive a safety talk from the trip leader.
During this 2 Hour whitewater adventure expect to encounter over 10 major Class III to IV rapids in the Nenana River Canyon! The Denali National Park frontier will be the setting on your river left shore with Mt. Healy rising over 3,000 feet to the summit. Exciting wave-trains and powerful hydraulics will create rapids like “Razorback,” “Iceworm,” “Cable Car,” “Royal Flush,” and “Coffee Grinder!”
