About this activity
This is a very complete Guatapé tour since it has more stops to visit amazing places and than the average.

Did you know Colombia is the most diverse country regarding to fruit production per square meter? This is why in this Guatapé tour your knowledgeable guide will take you to a food stand where you can try some of the exotic fruits we grow in Colombia and that are hard to find anywhere else.

After this delicious stop we head to a replica of an old flooded town that had to be demolished to make way to the amazing dam that was built in 1978, so here we can appreciate how this town used to look like and if you feel like buying a souvenir this is a good place to do it.

Your next stop is the main reason you are taking this tour: climbing up the rock. This breathtaking rock is 200 meters high that with its 740 steps provides a stunning view from the top, one the best views your eyes will ever see. As this is a private tour you can stay as long as you wish, appreciating the nature and taking pictures or simply relaxing there.

After walking down the rock your guide takes you to one of the most authentic and picturesque towns in Colombia: Guatapé. Named after an indian chief this town has preserved the Zocalos tradition. But what are Zocalos? It's a beautiful artistic colonial tradition that people from Guatapé has taken to the next level.

At this town you have lunch in a very authentic place with a view to the lake and then to wash it down you have the chance to try a fresh and authentic colombian coffee, the best quality from the coffee region.

After the lunch and coffee you are invited to make a guided stroll in which your guide will explain in more detail the zocalos meaning and the town history. You visit places like the church with its beautiful wood ceiling, Zocalos square, Remembrance Street, the boardwalk and the commerce street where you can get an original souvenir for your family and friends.

Lastly on your way back to Medellin the last stop is to try one the most traditional desserts from the region that can only be found in the eastern part of Antioquia, if you like sweet tastes you are going to love this one.

These 8 hours will be very informative, fun and cultural that combined with exquisite traditional meals makes a memorable experience.
